Abstract

Innovation leads, entrepreneurship builds dreams. On November 11, 2022, the national finals of the 11th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition—focused on high-end equipment manufacturing—concluded successfully in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. The competition was guided by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, the Cyberspace Administration of China, and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and co-organized by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology and the Changzhou Municipal People’s Government. This time, Anyun Company’s entry, “Smart Mine: A New Wind Across Ten Thousand Li,” a continuous‑operation reversing system for main ventilation fans, achieved outstanding results and advanced to the national finals.

The 11th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is centered on the theme of “selecting the best, providing innovative services, and accelerating enterprise development,” with a focus on enhancing firms’ technological innovation capabilities and fostering high‑tech industries and strategic emerging enterprises. This year’s event attracted more than 38,862 participating companies from across the country, including 30,830 in the Growth Group, which advanced through successive rounds of selection at 37 regional competition venues nationwide. ， Nearly 1,500 enterprises have been recommended to advance to the national competition, with 345 companies selected from the Growth Group. Four enterprises from Shanxi Province made it to the national finals, and Yuncheng City was represented by only one of them. AnYun Company’s entry, “Smart Mine: A New Wind Across Ten Thousand Li,”—a continuous‑operation, automatic switching system for main ventilation fans—earned high praise from the competition’s expert judges thanks to its strong capabilities and innovative technological features.

Brief Introduction to the Award-Winning Entry:

Shanxi Anyun Fan Co., Ltd. is located in the Yuncheng Salt Lake High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Shanxi Province. Established in 1981 with a registered capital of RMB 100 million, the company is a large-scale fan manufacturer integrating research and development, production, sales, and after-sales service. The company has implemented a comprehensive quality management system and has obtained ISO 9001 certification for quality management, ISO 14001 certification for environmental management, ISO 45001 certification for occupational health and safety management, as well as 3C product certification. It boasts state-of-the-art production and testing equipment and operates China’s largest experimental center for large‑scale high‑pressure fans, equipped with three test wind tunnels measuring 5.0 m, 3.2 m, and 2.4 m in diameter.

Mine ventilation safety is of paramount importance to the safe production of coal mines. The main mine fan is responsible for providing ventilation, and its safe operation is critical to preventing and controlling gas hazards—particularly in high-gas and outburst-prone mines, where even a minor oversight can lead to excessive gas concentrations, resulting in asphyxiation, combustion, or explosions, thereby posing a severe threat to mine safety. In actual mining operations, it is inevitable that the main mine fan will undergo scheduled or unscheduled maintenance‑related shutdowns or experience emergency shutdowns due to failures. For many high‑gas and outburst‑prone mines, even a one‑minute interruption of ventilation can trigger localized gas exceedances; consequently, excessively long periods of fan maintenance or failure‑induced shutdowns are simply unsustainable for such mines.

Currently, more than 95% of fan manufacturers on the market produce equipment that relies on conventional operating procedures. To address the safety risks—such as the accumulation of mine gas and exceeding permissible gas concentrations—that arise during scheduled or unscheduled switching of the main ventilation fan in high‑gas mines, due to excessively long switching times, technical measures have been implemented, including the addition of horizontal bypass test dampers to the existing ventilation system. These measures enable the main ventilation fan to be switched without stopping airflow, significantly reducing switching time and effectively mitigating this critical safety vulnerability. This approach holds practical significance for ensuring safe production in mines.
